Kona Explosif 1993

Re: Re:

Splatter Paint" I'm actually thinking of going v-brake too as it will be raced and v brakes are ace - especially the XT ones already in my spares box :)[/quote said:
Avid are better! Especially in the wet. And look better too Mike

Re:

Ti, that's the plan - lots of ti and alloy upgrades to an XT groupset :D

I've ordered a ti BB and ti crank bolts, alloy mech pivot bolt and chainring bolts which should loose 200g.

Re: Kona Explosif 1993 - Stalled.

Well Ti upgrades might not be the cheapest way to go but with the all the care and attention your giving this one then it makes sense to use good quality light weight parts which should translate into a real good feeling ride ..

Re:

...and after all that effort of painting, polishing and cleaning and only having it built for 30 minutes (whilst I ate my dinner) I then went and got it all muddy! Well, that's what they're for right? First impressions were good

The Kona looks amazing mate and well worth waiting for but what i'm curious to know is how much feel translates through the bars compared to steel and are the fibrax blocks as good as i hope they are as they were my prefered choice bitd with the only downside being that they use to wear out pretty quick compared to the XT's ..
