No I'm 100% sure it's the original paint job.

Have seen this Kona colour before - but very rare I think. A very dark shimmering greeen/black - like Ballachuish Slate reflecting dim sunlight on an early winter morning

V nice.

Thanks mr Panda! :D

Yeah it sure does look fresh
I'll take a note of your technique if I may.

.

Thanks for the kind words guys

:) :)

I have on one occasion finished it off (after the procedure described above) with AG extra gloss protection, but the surface really needs to be flawless when using that as the glass -like gloss makes any small scratches more visible. Better to use some carnauba -based wax on non-perfect paintjobs.

Presta's Chroma polish is also good stuff.

Yup, it's the original paint :)

I used Autoglym paint renovator first, then super resin polish. Worked out pretty nicely, even if I say so myself  ;)

I think I'm going to strip mine and give it a go, it looks awesome!

Remember to take your time with the paint renovator (or similar, moderately abrasive stuff) first, the resin polish does remove minor surface imperfections, but the renovator does the necessary ground work :)

I confess of being a bit of a polisher at times...

edit: hopefully I haven't sounded like an AG retailer

I really want this frame but just cant afford it this side of Christmas.

Ok Matt, I'll keep you in mind if it hasn't sold before Xmas :)

Don't suppose you have a photo of it made up, do you? I currently have a couple of 17" and one 19" framed bikes but can't decide which I'm better suited to. Having never even ridden a Kona I don't know how the sloping toptube affects it all. Always quite fancied one though.

In short: would it be a straight swap for a generic 19" frame or do you get a bit more standover with a Kona? I really like the look of it, by the way...

T..
