It could be an idea to try the Vintage forum on mtbr, as they are much more oriented towards period-correctness than the laid-back reprobates like me that are on here.
Another possibility is to email tech@konaworld.com - I would suggest sending him a nice photo of the frame to accompany your question. That might get their enthusiasm going, as it does tend to be a bit variable. To be fair, the information may not be immediately available even to him, but if he went looking I expect he could find out - the senior management people at Kona now are the same people who were there at the beginning, other than Joe Murray of course, and I'll bet you they could answer your question if they could rouse themselves.
