Kona Choice

91 Konas are the best looking of all Konas! But I bet the Fire Mountain frame and even full bike are lighter.

Re:

I now have both! In really quite amazing condition - and yes the Fire Mountain IS significantly lighter, 3 to 4 lbs so on a quick luggage scale weighing, more than the smaller frame would account for. Must be the Race Light sticker!

Re:

Fire Mtn really is pretty much as new (and the Lava Dome just as mint).

It seems that this thread has lived on past the original poster's need, so I won't feel guilty regarding a mild sidetrack. Can we discuss Kona sizing?
A Kula has been listed in my area, looks like a 2000, still sporting it's vees and Sid. The owner says it is a medium, but has provided no actual measurements. Is there something I can direct them to measure in order to confirm its size?
Also, would a medium be appropriate for me, I'm approximately 177cm. For comparison, I've been riding a 93ish Specialized Hardrock in medium (18 inch seatpost, center of the BB to top of the seat tube) and it has never felt too large for me. Perhaps a little small, but I have never been properly fitted for a bike.
Thanks
MattV,
