Hi there, it’s time to introduce my everydays bike. Hope it will be useful.
I’m old mtb fan, though i’ve rode several non retro bikes. Longest was 6 years on 2006 Giant XTC with different model, from disc to cantis, from Ritchey carbon to cromo triple-butted fork ( which I really prefer most), even if it was Alu frame.
Since then I have had Villiger, Jamis Exile cromo Infinity tubes, 1993 Trek 950, 1992 Team Marin ( crushed in road accident), 1995 Marin San Rafael ( very comfy) and finally 1996 Koga Miyata Burner S.
Through the years I have found myself comfy on bikes with cromo forks, carbon is too stiff for my 115 lbs weight, also Alu is not a fantasy. What about suspension, I try to build one cromo Panasonic with AMP, so will see, how’s that.
What I like in Koga, it’s strong build, manoeuvrable, bit lazy in curves comparing Marin Team ( it depends on riding), I use same Tange Superlight fork here. But, fantastic outstanding angle productivity, don’t know exact term to describe, inertia whatsoever? It covers distance after pedalling at 15 miles per hour so long, that you could ride some 200 metres without any force.
I prefer to pedal and brake ergonomically, since my riding is more calculated, than just routine, but I like this.
Will love to hear your comments.
