There was a qualifier race on the Saturday and then Sunday's race, due to the TV cameras, was shortened to 17 laps of a one mile loop. I was third over the line (having been lapped about 10 times)
First time I saw Mike Jackson's Yeti Ultimate, and Dave Hemming's red, white and yellow DOGSBOLX, complete with (fully aluminium) prototype Pace suspension forks… Happy days. Although I did grind off the corner of my purple Grafton cranks off on the skate park there…
And you may have had a go on a Kona mountain bike sidecar outfit and, due to rider and passenger getting their leaning and cornering a little wrong, ended up taco'ing the rear wheel.
