Theres is an irony here. CK hardly made a cent from his huge contribution in bringing to the world 'The Mountain Bike'- both in a physical sense and also into the vocabulary. I guess you have now brought that story to the masses without benefitting financially. Its a cruel irony indeed.
On the other hand, you were incredibly fortunate to spend time with our founding fathers, to document brilliantly their story and give millions of bikers around the world great pleasure and also to an educational insight into this sport's humble beginnings. That has to give a warm feeling inside despite the money hassles. I had a young chap in his early 20's call around to pick up some bike parts last week. He looked across my row of classic bikes with indifference having no idea what they were. The only bike he recognised was the Schwinn Excelsior- he knew quite a bit about them and was genuinely excited by it! The power of film?
I hope that over time that things get sorted Billy, and that the world looks back in the future to recognise the guy who brought us a fantastic tale of that golden period with the same kind of love and respect we now hold for those guys having fun on Mt Tam all those years ago.
Just keep Klunkin Bro
