KLUNKERZ

Theres is an irony here. CK hardly made a cent from his huge contribution in bringing to the world 'The Mountain Bike'- both in a physical sense and also into the vocabulary. I guess you have now brought that story to the masses without benefitting financially. Its a cruel irony indeed.

On the other hand, you were incredibly fortunate to spend time with our founding fathers, to document brilliantly their story and give millions of bikers around the world great pleasure and also to an educational insight into this sport's humble beginnings. That has to give a warm feeling inside despite the money hassles. I had a young chap in his early 20's call around to pick up some bike parts last week. He looked across my row of classic bikes with indifference having no idea what they were. The only bike he recognised was the Schwinn Excelsior- he knew quite a bit about them and was genuinely excited by it! The power of film?

I hope that over time that things get sorted Billy, and that the world looks back in the future to recognise the guy who brought us a fantastic tale of that golden period with the same kind of love and respect we now hold for those guys having fun on Mt Tam all those years ago.

Just keep Klunkin Bro

Hey Billy
Really sorry to hear your having to deal with this type of bullshit.
Remember the spare rooms always here if you want come over and do a tour banging the heads of Europes media leaders.
Anything you want done over here just shout and I'm sure between us all we can do it.

It's all good. I'm just glad so many folks get to know (some of) the story about the genesis of these killer machines. Evidently, folks in EU can still get copies of Klunkerz through X-treme video. They're out of France, but they should be shipping to your local bike shops. Thanks again for everything!
Ride on,
Billy
P.S. The Old World Mountain Bike Championships are going to be WAY COOL!

Hey Lumos2000,

Ummm...no, I can't. Folks who are that interested in getting it for free can figure out a way. I don't think donations would really help much when I'm six-figures in the hole. I honestly don't think I'd be too surprised by the by all those donations people would throw my way. Thanks guys.
