Klein Rascal BB - Help!

i have changed a few Klein spindles with a rubber mallet and some lumps of wood...
or you can make one of these.... :)
There is a Klein manual on line somewhere explaining exactly how do do it... i used to have a copy but i cant find it... sure someone will post the link for you.

Thanks to 24pouces and magicmistertea for the pics.

Mallet method worked....I have got the spindle out.

Now the task of sourcing a shorter version. Found mombat in the US, but they're charging $39.99 for the spindle and $30 for shipping :x
 
When refitting would cooling the bearing and warming the frame make the fitting a tad easier as the frame area would enlarge fractionally and the bearing would shrink may mean less force is needed. And when i say warmed I mean with a hairdryer not a blowtorch.

In theory yes it would help...
When i changed mine i didnt use any sort of heat/cooling.
to fit the new bearing i just drilled 2 square bits of wood with a hole just big enough to fit the spindle through... turned the frame on its side with one bit of wood flat on the floor over the spindle but touching the bearings around the bb... then fitted the other bit of wood over the spindle on the other side and tapped the bearing in with the bit of wood and a rubber mallet..... does that make any sense ? :LOL:
