Klein Pulse with zip grip help

I have a Klein Pulse small size with a zip grip seat post binder. The seat post itself measures 31.6. I am having trouble trying to remove the seat post from the frame.

I am able to turn the zip grip collar No matter which way I turn the collar until I can't turn anymore (clock-wise or counter clock-wise all the way until I cannot turn anymore), the seatpost can be rotated in place (albeit with a lot of effort and gawd awful sound), but just remains firmly in place and will not allow it to be pulled out.

Any suggestion on what is going on with the zip grip and/or suggestions on getting it out?

I have not received any further news.

Though I was able to pull the post out of the seat tube by twisting the post (with the saddle installed on the post) and pulling at the same time. This required more pulling force than you would think it requires.
