Giuys, anyone ogt a pic of how the cable routed around the BB on a mantra. Even a catalogue pic. . Mine is a 98 I Think, so later 'plate' front to the rear triangle and Fox shock (rather than tubular struts and strange Klein "can"),
info or links appreciated, ;)

As a man about to re-cable a (lovely, lovely, lovely...) Klein Mantra frame he's just bought, any thoughts on the Mantra's cabling or any pictures anyone could provide on this matter would be gratefully received!

That's a crying shame - I could have done with picking his brains! Ah well, I'll start the cabling in the next day or so and see how far I get before making a dog's dinner of it all...

Cheers for that Petitpal - that's a good link. Blowing up the photo in question seems to answer the bulk of any issues that should arise. Remind me I've said that when I come crying back to this post!

Watch for "ghost" shifts on the rear mech..

For the section from the main frame to the rear triangle on the rear mech try and use a nice flexible outer.

It's a long time since I ran mine as a geared bike but always used to suffer from ghost shifts if you ran the cable outer a little too short

Otherwise pretty straight forward :)

Appreciate your experiences on that gil_m - it was the ghost-shifting murmurs that made me think of asking everyone before I lost countless hours of my life to cabling and re-cabling...
I'm stripping everything I can off my old ride to pop on the Klein for a mo - you can be assured that my rear mech's cable will be just a bit too tight for the Klein and need replacing!
I've got to ask gil_m - what's the Mantra like as a single speed?

SS...works very well, well it does for me anyway

Travel locks out the minute you are out the saddle climbing and then gives you nice plush travel when you sit back down :)

To make things worse I run it with rigid fork and the original design intended ;)

The Black one has now moved on, just have the Silver one which has a suspension fork but I will "adjust" this before the new one gets too much use ;)
