To run v-brakes on an early Klein would involve either using the cable fitting adapter to run the outer cable properly, or drilling the hole out

Unless the inner cable is aligned perfectly concentrically with the holes in the frame, you'll saw through the frame.

That's cool, it's not for aesthetic reasons, it's functional reasons.
Anywhoo, it's a tasty bike for sure, hope it goes to a good home
