Klein Adroit Pro Front Shock

Retro Newbie
The shock on my 2000 Klein adroit pro is blown out and I would like to replace it with a new rock shox. The issue that I am having is that all the newer shocks are 1 1/8 inch steerer. The steerer on the Klein is approx. 1 1/4 inches. Does anyone have any suggestions regarding my dilemma. Spoke with Jon from Kleinspainted.com and suggested a reducer kit to accept the 1 1/8 steerer on the rock shox. Desperate and confussed

A reducer kit is indeed the best option when pairing modern forks with 1 1/4" frames. I'm not too familiar with Klein though, so I won't make any suggestions.

Oh, and seeing as we're talking about a '00 bike and a modern fork, I'll move this to the 98+ section.

I bought some 1 1/4 to 1 1/8 headset reducers from the States on E Bay seller called Sellution_Components for my Sintesi frame which did the trick. Simple to fit with a headset press, well made and quick overseas delivery.

If its anything like my 2000 Adroit Race, the usual Klein adapters won't fit. According to my email history I bought mine from a guy called David Giessel back in 2011. I can't find any more info on him and his website (themacaddress.com) no longer works.

He said I've got an MC3.1 setup - a tapered steerer where the top section is about 1 1/4.

Looks like http://reset-racing.de/ do a full headset.

This is what mine looks like.

My guess is that the high pressure oil seal gave out and now there's oil leakage from the right fork leg right? Does the fork still hold air ok? The good news is: the fork can be rebuilt... the bad news is : it's a right bugger of a job... I've done it a couple of days ago. the seals can be bought from shockcraft.co.nz
