Damn the little sods
Firstly, I shoot myself, although much less than I used to. These days it's just a co2 pistol but I used to shoot an Air Arms AS200 with a big scope so I don't hate shooters.
I do however worry about an unsupervised kid ( around 14 ish, but
looks younger so is on the cusp of legality for shooting ) shooting into my girlfriends garden and taking potshots at the local willdlife. ( There are sever limitations on what you are allowed to shoot. And where. He is breaking all of them)
So, chat with the parents?

My old neighbours kids did exactly the same thing, and when a bb pinged around my backyard I went straight round and tore a strip of the kid, as well as promising to tell the police next time. His mum turned up halfway through and agreed with me, he'd been doing it without permission and they were vaguely horrified. I also used to have an air rifle (BSA ScorpionT10 with fat scope and silencer) and combined with a bit of military service have a healthy respect for any shooty things...

Right folks, gether - we'll pop over and have a gentle word. And then if necessary, the coppers. Ross - I was in the ATC and shot for my squadron, like you I have that healthy respect. This pair of mutants were waving their piece of crap 50 quid spring rifle around like a toy. They are in no danger of hitting anything they "aim" at but this makes them even more dangerous as far as I am concerned.

Re:

Using your own air rifle go on a rampage and shoot up the parents garden, they'll think it was him, give him the 3rd degree, and take the weapon off him.

Plus it should be a lot of fun for you :D

(I'm only half serious about this plan by the way....)

Ooooh Jimo, you are clearly a man of vision. I like that plan a lot.

THM: My housemate has exactly that toy. And a belt fed one. On a tripod. It's in the fireplace. he's 43.

Probably more accurate than the pile of dodgy plywood and pressed monkey metal the kid was waving around earlier, mind.
