KHS Montana Comp

I've cleared some floorplace in advance; you never know when a new treasure hits you! .....and there it was.
A little fainted but factory spec'd (Ritchey Megabites were stored with the bike for over 30 years)
The right mix of DX and LX components; the only thing I'm not sure about yet, is the seatpost?
In 3 little steps from sort of citycruiser (what is was used for according the seller) to full bred mountainbike.

Loose the lock, standaard (don't even know the English word), the bell (?....) and the spokes protector behind the cassette.

Raise the seat to a more racy height.

Refit the Ritchey Megabites

Tada:

You don't see many 1991 specs of these. Everybody knows the 1993s (I have 2 comps and a Team from '93) but I'm not sure I've ever seen a '91. I feel like I'm missing a bike now

1991 seems to be a year of some importance for me regarding the old bikes.
Reading your reply reads like I've found something special(-ish)?
Scroll back in my threads and you'll find the 'story' of a Stumpy M2 team from '91, mine for nickle and a dime (correct way of using these words?😉)
Back to the KHS ..... I'm not married to it and if its possible, I'll consider selling it.
Where are you located? I'm in the Netherlands.

Nice! We don't the 91 in the UK.

I think the first import was 93 but we have 92's floating around because suppliers bought old stock to sell off cheaper than the new 93 models. Or so I've read.

Realistically I'm not in market for another bike, especially not a KHS, with 5 KHS in total as I searched for a '93 Team I felt that was done once I built one. The hobby of restoring bikes has generally moved to a hobby of riding them again now. My wife would divorce me if I tried to spend hours doing both :)

Hi, sorry to but in to your post but I have the same bike 1993 me thinks and I have chipped the paint a bit getting the seat post out. Does any one by chance have a paint code or spec for the blue paint?

When I first posted this bike on the forum, it became clear that it was kind of rarity (in the UK), being only imported from '92 onwards.
Since it becomes more clear with every new project that I'm more of a fixer-upper than a collector, I want to gauge interest if someone in the UK might be interested?
I'm located in the Netherlands and do not want to go through the pile of bureaucracy when I should pack it; collection only (or with a minimum of travel from my side).
Being Dutch, easy to think that I want to score high! ...No...I want the bike to end up with someone who can do it justice (so not for free but reasonable)
So, if you have lorry-driving uncles or still have promised to go to the mainland for a day-trip with the misses, here's your chance!!
