Keys, cash, phone ?

So many things we carry around these days, the wallet, the moby and keys, not keys of the past, but big electronic things, when out riding, where the hell do you put these things ?

Pocket and or bag.usually leave wallet at home and just take a few quid out with me

Phone, house or car key, one card & a £5er!

But 90% of the time I've got the camelbak for tools etc anyway...

pockets

i try to carry as little as possible , i get paranoid im going to lose something  but havnt so far , which means checking i havnt lost anything at regular intervals works and i mustnt stop

i have 2 sets of keys , the front/rear doors and the cars on the other , no point carrying car keys if im not going to use a car

i rarely carry a phone anymore , i havnt been able to make calls on it for about 3 years since i stopped paying the orange bill , so theres no point carrying something i cant really use , its not like i go out into the wilderness , there will always be someone nearby who can make a call if i fall over or something

instead of a phone i bought a cheap animal watch so i still know what the time is ( i only ever use the phone for the clock and i cant lose a watch )

i try to avoid carying a wallet if riding , it annoys me having it in my pocket

i do always carry a small allen key tool but ive lately been thinking of getting one of the tiny ones that fits in that small pocket in a pair of jeans

also use an animal watchstrap for keeping my jeans/cords leg out of the chain , that gets put on the bars when not in use ( also know where it is  )

Phone? No ta! Spare tube, multitool (incl chain tool), £10 and odd change inside a Tip Top pucture kit, 3 tyre levers and any keys in a small wedge under saddle bag. Pump attaches to clips under a bottle cage. I have never owned a camelback. (See? I can't even spell it).

Camelbak for me...

ditto :D

keys, phone, small toolkit with a few useful bits in it like chain links, zip ties, jockey wheels as well as tools. Couple of spare inner tubes, puncture kit, camera (if not on phone), stick (for clearing out mud from wheels), map, drink, food, money...

wouldn't dare go out with anything less on a big ride as I've been caught out before, miles from home on a high hillside - it ain't pleasant!!

Another vote for a Camelbak. This keeps all my spare tubes, multi-tool, 1st aid kit in one place no matter what bike I take out.

Remember to have an In Case of Emergency number as part of your profile screen on your mobile, just in case.

paramedics look for ICE on your phone ( in case of emergency ) putting that next to whoever you want called when your stuck under the bike with strange aches crying " i just want to be home " helps

i had a mate who carried a socket set in his pocket while riding , explaining it to the police who stopped us for riding with no lights was fun

At present I carry tools, spare tube, puncture repair kit, zip-ties in a small under-saddle bag, into which I also try and cram the keys, £5 and sometimes a mobile. The problem is arising that the pressure of everything is draining the battery in the keyfob.....so.... I was on the brink of going down the camelbak route as this would also allow space for carrying or stowing another layer. Then I read a thread re back-ache where 'ditching the camelbak' was suggested from a couple of folks. Is this a serious issue? Please say not 'cos I really don't want to contemplate bum-bags
