Kegs of ales

I'm looking to get a keg of ale for an upcoming event.

Reality check - - ONE WON'T BE ENOUGH

Need at least two/three varieties for "comparison testing" :D

Chech the yellow pages or online for one of those 'micro breweries',you might get a better beer and a better deal than with one of the big commercial set ups :?

Had some experience of this kind of thing. two choices, either 'bright' beer which doesn't need to stand as it is already clear and ready to be enjoyed immediately, or live which needs to stand for 24 hrs or so and needs to be spilled (ie 2nd fermentatation) and served 12 hours later. if you have a local they will often help you out as it increases their turnover.

a 9 is nine gallons, polypin is smaller

happy to check the quality control!

Try a local micro brewary John. A friend of mine used to run one and was happy to supply kegs and all the kit for parties etc. We had 3 different bitters with hand pulled pumps set up in another friends shed for a wedding do. Lovely pint he used to make as well. ;)

ask a local small brewery, there must be more than a few in your area, the best thing to do is go and visit them, you'll get to try out the beers and choose the one you like most, you usually pay a deposit for the keg and pump.

Let us know the ones in your area, I'm sure there will be enough recommendations, we have loads of beards on this site.
