Ok so for anyone wanting a challenge…. How about a beautiful Kastle frame with a stuck seatpost? Tange Prestige tubing. Ritchey dropouts. Paintwork is pretty spot on too.
For full disclosure, I have attempted to pull the seatpost out and it did shift slightly… with 4 tonnes of pressure. When I tried again, the post sheared off at just over 4.5 tonnes. The bottom bracket was supported during this with an old cup and cone BB, minus the axle to prevent damaging the threads. Happy to say the BB cups thread in and out nicely still.
I have tried to support the post with an M20 bolt inside and twisting it free in my vice but it just crushes the post and starts to tear.
There is around 200mm of seatpost seized inside the frame.
I don’t want anything for the frame. The groupset more than covers the cost I’ve incurred so if you fancy a challenge. Let me know.
Yes I could get it out but I’d rather now put my energy in to a project I want to keep or that is likely to sell fairly easily.
Location is Tamworth
