Karma bike with pics...gone

Although I'd love to take part, I have ongoing bike projects and dont want to take another on. But when you decide to give it away, will you post pictures and let us know what it is?

Thanks

I'd like a vintage cycle as my cycling hobby, able to carry my vintage body.

A roadster in green with a steel lugged frame, perfect for cycling quiet country lanes.

Comfortable bars which sweep back in style, and a saddle to sit on mile after mile.

A rack on which to carry the load, and guards to keep the dirt on the road.

A chain which is covered from the worst of the weather, and internal gears which are rather clever.

A dynamo system to light the way, able to turn night into day.

And brakes made of rods of alloy or steel, acting upon both front & rear wheels.

I'd like a bike from the 50's, in typical style, and a "H" in the name would make it even more worthwhile.

I'd like a fine old Holdsworth tourer with reynolds tubing, 5 speed, and original to a T! I would put my Brooks saddle in place, brooks bar tape and some polished mudguards I have lying around, then set off to tour for the summer, following fine trails and enjoying the sights and smells.

Is it to be? nobody knows!

Just to confirm, it does have an "H" in the name, so not a Carlton, Dawes, Butler, Grubb, Falcon, Sun, BSA, Holdsworth  , Royal Enfield... the list is long

Though like its larger motorised namesake, it does have a twistgrip

So far there are three contenders, though they are all missing something, maybe in their lives as well...... :?

If anyone gets really close i will PM them and then put up some pics if they accept the bike.

I'd like it to be one of those huge old things where there's no seat post but the saddle sits in a kind of hammock. A bit like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pedersen_bicycle

I'm sure someone on here knows the technical name for this design.

Failing that - a softride? I've also kinda hankered for one of those. But I guess it's too old for that.

Those Pederson bikes are so cool. I went to the New Years parade in London this year and there were a couple of them in the vintage bike part of the parade.

My racers are great for the commute but are a bit too aggressive for leisurely weekend rides with the other half, so I'd love something like a heavy old Triumph bone shaker with a single speed or a Sturmey Archer hub. My trusty Brooks also needs a home! As with my other bikes though, don't expect it to get a full resto job! Bearings, chains and tyres get replaced but any hard-earned patina stays and gets a light coat of oil to preserve!
