Stunning little frame, in German national team livery. Very light silver soldered construction. Complete with alloy period headset. 531 SL tubesets were the forerunner to 653. Builds into a very sharp performing little bike and LIGHT! Sadly 3cm too small for me. 53cm c to c.

£150

Re: Kalkhoff 531 SL Professional frame 53 cm Campagnolo

WHat is the top tube length, is it a 53cm square?

Re: Kalkhoff 531 SL Professional frame 53 cm Campagnolo

Hi

yes it's 53cm sqaure. Standard 130mm rear end and Allen key brake bolt fittings.

Re: Kalkhoff 531 SL Professional frame 53 cm Campagnolo

It was replaced by 531 Pro....653 is different....where the rear triangle is 753....with 531SL like 753 the frame was silver soldered...531SL is now a rarity...good price too...GLWS.

Re: Kalkhoff 531 SL Professional frame 53 cm Campagnolo

Yeah - I've got a full 753 frame the same size and this is about 150gr lighter.
I Like the finish of it too but sadly way too small for me.

Re: Kalkhoff 531 SL Professional frame 53 cm Campagnolo

It's a Raleigh 753 - you won't like the price ;) I've got some more info on the 531SL: this would likely have been a German team issue bike. Darryl Webster acquired it in the early 80's and the guy I bought it from was loaned it to race on in the UK. It's extremely light, about 1400gr the frame set, silver soldered and what looks to be a complete Bocama lugset. The forks are more like the round to oval forks on my 753 than a regular 531 frame.
