Just missed out on this.....

@ loki

got that avalanche built yet ?

digging mine out tomorrow , built by tea time

Just try buying hope brake parts off the bay... :?
Missed/outbid/plain forgot about 10 sets until inevitably, the bits showed up on here in good condition and at reasonable prices!
My current build has only a headset and gear cables bought via eBay. It's a nightmare. Stick to buying from here ;)

i agree with loki
if you want a stumpy get a steel one

92/3/4 are imo the best

as for your question
not missed out on owt so far
95-96 with oversized prestige tubing and suspension corrected are the best IMO. Laterally stiff and vertically compliant......

if its on ebay and you definately want it, bid. then you can't forget. its not the best technique for securing the item at a low cost but its better than missing something. or use a snipe account. does it all for you.

i've never missed anything rare, expensive or boutique - just irritating stuff. a 'broken on the first ride' x-9 mech with perfectly good jockeys went for £3.50 POSTED!!! they would have been pretty cheap & handy spares. a bar & stem combo I really wanted that would have matched the seatpost on a build perfectly (same brand & model) went for £2.50! an lx wheelset I was eyeing up on a really bad listing went for about £12 and only about 8 miles away from home too. there are a couple of others but nothing important or critical to a build.

wouldn't worry about it mate
ride like a catalog bso

and 275 quid yer avin a larf

Nonsense...great frames that ride well above their price and better than the steel ones, but the build was only okay, you will find another
