Hello Im Phil mid fifties I have been viewing this forum for a while and decided to join I have 4 road bikes

1986 built Hirame o22 tubing (yellow frame) from whiskers which I speced with ma40 wheels and a mix of shimano 600 arabesque (brakes) and ex (pre sis) this is due a rebuild as the frame has some surface rust and minor pitting then last year got run over by a 4x4 while behind my car, I have managed to get all the parts second hand to start the rebuild over winter.

1980s early 90s Dawes jaguar 531 tubing which I saw in a LBS around 1995 for £50.00 it looked like it had only been ridden for about 20 miles so I bought it as a pub bike.

New stuff

Dirty joe alloy frame with carbon forks 105/tiagra bits.

2008-9 Mbk RD200 which I managed to buy with the insurance for the hirame £300.00 when the LBS had a closing down sale. Campag mirage, FSA and tectro bits, at that price I could not resist.

2 MTB's

1989 Townsend Trail 531 with exage 300 trail components and biopace (yuck) needs paint and rebuild.

1999 Giant Alu boulder shock shimano alvio bits.

I will post pictures when allowed

Cheers Phil

Hi Phil,

Welcome to the forum. That Hirame sounds like a tough old frame - to be usable again after suffering under a 4 x 4!

Looking forward to seeing some pictures.

Welcome to the forum. I have some adverts somewhere for the Hirame frame range from when they were first introduced. Imported by Evian? I can't recollect having seen one for some considerable time and even then only a very few. Can you post a photo of yours please?

Photo below

The frame was purchased from Whiskers of goffs oak in 1986 along with all the components and they put it together for me. the frame date was 82, I think by then the were selling them off as specials, mine came with a shimano 600 crank set for about £80.00. from memory there were three frames they were selling Blue, Brown and Yellow according to spec. I think £45.00, £60.00 and £80.00 the others had lesser tubing and mudgaurd eyes winter bikes ?, the yellow was the top of the range. I would not mind alook at the catalog if you can copy it up please.

I will some more photo's in the bikes section as I would like the views on the future restoration paint colour thinking along the lines of the steel bikes in november cycling plus. with hirame transfers if I can make them.
