Just built a 29'er. Will I ever ride on 26" wheels again?

I decided to give this 29er thing a go , 10 rides in and I've sold my bike to go 650b . Shocking ride characteristics on a 29er. If you like riding wagon wheels that don't turn then give it a shot.

650B isnt really that much bigger than 26 though is it. Not really!!!

More to do with the bike you got I'd say. There's good and bad in any wheel size.

It's an undisputed fact that 26ers are more fun to ride than 29ers!

No it's not. It's much more fun not getting stuck on roots while climbing. I do know what you mean though. ;)

and if you get a puncture your chances of being able to buy a new inner tube will also have been greatly reduced, and that sucks!!!

26" tube works in a 29" wheel, whereas the 29 will not in a 26 :)

The danger is here the familiar one from steel vs alu frame arguments: people project the flaws or strengths of one bike that uses a particular technology onto the technology itself, when they're actually quite independent.

..What was the 29er and what the "characteristics"?

Re:

Yeti sb95 !!! Just not a nice feel to it for me, rode a 650b side by side with a 29er the other day and the fun factor and Acceleration was for me massively different!!

Give it a year or two and it`ll be a 30er or a 28 and a halfer.
Anything to keep selling stuff. Rode one 29er. Felt like an `offroad racer` but not unpleasant. Fast enough but a bit gangly at times. The opposite you`d feel when jumping onto a BMX.

If you like it, ride it. They`re all bikes.
