Just brought these and oww yeah ebay problem am i wrong

Don't be so bleedin' English! Leave him some negative. You're unhappy with the deal, so tell him, and everyone else. It's what it's there for...

this always puzzles me

if the postage cost is shown and your happy to buy the items at that postage cost..why moan about it afterwards?

Indeed so long as postage is listed, when you bid you agree to it. If I were to charge a proportion of my hourly rate for the time taken to pack and post no one would ever buy anything from me. That doesn't necessarily mean I am going to do it for free though.

Dear cole3005,

Afternoon just got the shifters and just wanted to know how old they are as had to clean loads of crap and grit out of them and where are the cables? you marked these as new used once so not to happy plus £7.50 for postage and only came to £2.16 are you having a laugh?

Regards Dan

He replied with this sacastic reply

Dear waldensathome,

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you had to clean them and are not happy with the postage costs. They are only a few months old and were taken off a bike I took mountain biking just once. It was a wet and muddy day we went on.

As I work 9-6 everyday its impossible for me to get to the post office so I have to ask my girlfriend to drive there and back. Looking at the cost of the postage was quite high so I'll post you the wires soon.

Regards

So neg going his way   how do i get the excess postage back do i have to start a complaint with ebay?

Sorry,

But you bought these knowing the postage costs

I dont see why you are going to leave him neg

He has replied courteously (sp) and with (what seems to me) a pretty reasonable answer

The lad sounds straight up to me

Fair enough he never sent the cables, but he's gonna

If he doesnt, then moan, but did he list them with the cables??

G

i didn't want the cables (where listed) it was just the principal of the matter and the fact that he sold them as new and i could clearly see they had been used for ages the blokes a doosh and trying to pull a fast one iv'e fitted them now and the work fine just had to take them apart to clean them out (full of grit and crap) and re-lube them

They're listed as "New". Even his desciption of having been "used once" doesn't alter the fact that being descibed as "New" they could be expected to be in "as new" condition, not used once (for how long?) in muddy conditions. Postage cost is irrelevant; it's just one of the things you'ld ,let slide if you were otherwise happy. If you're not, it's just salt in the wound.
