Just brought these xtr shifters on ebay paid a fair price not super bargin or anything but http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 1439.l2649

After unpacking they are not quite new at all they are full of grit and crap and there are no cables (i didn't want them anyway) but they arnt so much of a fair price as they are more used and in less of a good state plus the postage charged me £7.50 and it only came to £2.16

So am i wrong for being slightly miffed at this :? :? :? :?

it dose say used once, i guess give him a chance to send the cables . put it down to experiance and mention the post in the feedback

its guaranteed to get ripped off on postage on ebay.

its a tactic to make more money as some people dont look at shipping costs when bidding.

Just gotta a reply to asking why the postage was so hi jut gotta a sorry followed by il send some cables to make up for it i think this gonna be a nutrial feedback with low low stars for this guy shame i was looking forward to them as its the last part of having a full xtr groupset

Have to say, given your description of their condition, you'd not be being unfair to question them as being described as "New" - plus the auction does state the cables are included.

As to the postage, well presumably it was detailed up-front, so long as they were packed decently, then I think probably not much grounds for complaint. That said, if postages costs are way over the real cost, and something is simply wrapped in a used, oily carrier bag, stuffed in a used jiffy bag, I think there can be questions to be asked on top-dollar postage charges, when sent in a piss-poor manner.

looks like an old box to be fair as to traveling to the post office there not a trade seller so why charge petrol thats just pi55 taking to charge for fuel in my opinion

I consider it bad form to charge three times actual postal costs on a small item.

It would seem he did not insure your item.

Surprised he has 100% good feedback.

Once they are cleaned up and you have the cables I would imagine you won't be too unhappy with the item, if non plussed with the dealer.

:)

Postage

Not quite sure on the comeback for the actual item but ebay certainly frown on overcharging for postage, and this clearly is. I would report it and even if they dont refund any they will certainly watch his charges in the future.
