Judy XC: What year are these and how to set up?

Hi all
I have acquired what I think is a 2001 Judy XC fork (perhaps someone could confirm the year by the graphics? I have struggled to find info):

It seems in good nick apart from a bit of corrosion under the paint on the mag legs, the stanchions are tip-top and move smoothly. But I can't quite work out how to set it up. There are two identical black dials at the top of the fork legs which click with every turn of 180 degrees. I am guessing that one is for rebound and the other is for setting the spring stiffness/sag, but I don't know which one is which. Neither seems to actually do very much.

Can someone save me a bit of time playing with them and enlighten me on the correct operation of the dials?

Thanks :)

Re:

Those dials at the top caps are both for spring preload, and the rebound knob is on the bottom of the right leg.

(goes off to shed and checks right fork leg) Ah-ha. Thanks, don't know how I missed the fork leg adjuster, considering it was the same on my last set of (newer) Rockshox

Can I safely take it that clockwise=more preload?

Anyone know if I was right about the year?

Re:

Yep, 2001, top caps clockwise adds preload, anti clockwise to back preload off, the bottom adjuster for rebound only moves about half a turn so don't go forcing it, here's a linky to the ones I found myself buying a couple of years ago, viewtopic.php?t=214840 there's a link in that thread to the owners manual I think :)
