Judy type II springs - fitting advice

Managed to score some type II spring kits that I hope will rejuvenate a set or two of judy's I have, but I'll be honest and say I have no idea what I'm getting myself into in terms of fitting them. Would I be right in assuming that I can just swap out/replace knackered elastomers with the springs?

I've also got some spring rate adjusters, though I've no idea what these are for, so anyone who does, I'm all ears.

Thanks

Ian

That is all.
Take out the dusted elastomers and replace them with springs.
I have some manuals and a picture of how it will look like.

Type II springs are the short ones used at the top under the adjuster knob on 97 onwards forks, they are not designed to replace any elastomers, they are used from stock.

Type II equiped Judys had a mixture of spring and elastomers in each leg. Type III were two springs in each leg.

1997 Rock Shox Judy manual - both in the RB archive.

New Type II Spring System. Lively action of a coil spring and lightweight progressive MCU. Very easy to
tune for different riders. Available on all Judy forks.

1998 Rock Shox Judy manual.

New Type 3 Spring System. Very easy to tune for different riders . Lively action of a progressive coil spring system.

Thanks for the info, I may well do that.

Does anyone know what the difference is between the dh and sl internals aside from rebound damping?

I have a few options in terms of what to fit internally (aside from springs, but I can always order some), but I don't want to increase the travel at all and mess with the frame geometry, so any advice welcomed here.
