John Tomac Signature Model Raleigh

Absolutely MAGNIFICENT!!!

The serial number is stamped on the outside of the right dropout on the rear derailleur hanger.

There were only a handful of green-decal Litespeed Raleigh John Tomac Signature Model produced before switching over to the more familiar Blue —> Silver decals for the remainder of the run.

I hope you enjoy it on some good NORBA/Grundig race courses. It’s the best way to understand what makes these bikes so special.

Simply classy! What's the seapost diameter? I'm wondering when John switched to the Tioga Carbo seatpost. Funily enough, he never switched to the Tioga Carbo handlebar and sticked with the DL2001 model. Don't know the reason. Weight penalty? Indeed, according to the 1992 Tioga Mountain Bike Components Catalog, while the Carbo seatpost is 10g lighter than its aluminum counterpart, the Carbo handlebar is 39g heavier than the DL2001. Other factors may come to play, such as bending (4° vs 6°), just curious why?

Seatpost diameter for most of the LS and all of the Merlin JTS was 27.2
A few of the Litespeed JTS took 27.0. I always wondered if by design or due to worn reamer.

He felt the Carbo handlebar was too flexible leading to less precise handling.

I found it, the stamp is tiny and was slightly obscured by the quick-release. Thank you for mentioning it.
