900g is not that bad, is it? The problem I have with lightweight steel forks is that I don´t like flex. The Ritchey Logic I have really makes for a noodly front end. And don´t get me started on the horrible brake shudder on triple butted P2´s ...I've just restomodded a T-Max and it rides wonderfully. The only caveat is that Serotta didn't really ever cared about the forks he used. The Columbus Max I had on mine was 900 grams. I installed an AMP instead. I noticed the same problem on my Serotta Tri Colorado. The frame is gorgeous and incredibly carefully designed, the fork is a plain Tange One. If I had to mount a rigid fork on my T Max, I'd choose a Tange superlight instead. Or a Ritchey Logic unit.
