JBX1 Replica: how to propose my bike for BotM?

It looks like you are making a great start here, in the right section, and that bike looks lovely. Some more pictures and specs and details of the build would be great to see.

Hi Phil2B,

As PhillB, I had to respond. Welcome to Retrobike!!...To enter you just need to look for the post in the 'Retro MTB Forum' the invites entries.

Naturally some of the months are themed, so you'll need to check you bike falls into the category, but other than that, you can upload a couple of photos and a brief description. Entrants are encouraged to also include a build thread, if you have one...although it does not seem to be conditional. Mainly we just like to see loads of photos...

That does look like a very interesting bicycle you are holding in the photo above 🙂 Do show us more 😁 !

Certainly looks like it will do better than the bikes I have entered in the past 🙂

Hi. New on RetroBike. I'd like to propose my JBX1 replica for the BotM. I suppose I have to post it first to show it to the other members....But I don't know how to do it, sorry! Could ou tell me? Thanks. Philippe

Welcome Philippe

Pretty much as others have said above, just go to the competition page and upload a picture of your bike.

The current competition is linked below for you, the first post explains some of the criteria and also a link to the rules.

Thanks! So, From France (Corsica island) I've hunted for 1 1/2 year on the web the same original parts that Joe Breeze used for his JBX1: Some difficults parts were: Phil Wood hubs & BB, a new Brooks B72 saddle, ORANGE Preston Petty Brake ajuster (!!) for Magura Ievers. Then I asked a pro french frame maker to make the exact replica (4130 chromoly for the main tubes) following the plans by Joe Breeze. A few monthes after (I would say more than a year :): The JBX1 Replica arrived in my village in Corsica (end of october). This bike will be the subject of an article in the next "Vélo Vert" mag. (Since 1989: one of the 2 first MTB in France), for sale in jan 2025. I love this... It is a dream of mine to build my own frame....this is exactly what I would like to build - a Breezer 1 replica...

These shots are awesome.

How did you get the original specification?
