Japanese SR Tange Aero tube DA AX Build

I purchase this Tange Aero tubed frame off ebay a little bit ago.

Then i went a bit overboard.

Shiny not NOS bits. Rear hub is in good enough nick for this, the front is a bit meh, so im going to replace it.

would be interested to know the weight of the frame to compare it to its "aerodynamics" competitors such as the french ones super vitus arcor, camus aero 7 or even some others like the reynolds speedstream or speedstream SL ( which I never saw a frame of !)

this aero "fad" seems to have been quite french ( mercier, gitane did some )- even some midmarket bikes had some profiled tubing , a bit US/Japanaese - Lotus in the US distributed rebadged Tsunodas - Nishikis in the US from mother company Kawamura - dutch - Koga Miyata did some and used some Tange tubing.

Most of these bikes had DA AX or Shimano 600 AX groups :idea:

Nice build,I love the aero shimano,always been a Campag man but I think that was the pinnacle of Shimanos components.Can't wait to see the finished bike..

i have an Ian May aero tubed bike , i wouldnt say it was any lighter than normal , but it sure looks different
