J Mortimer ???

Retro Newbie
Inquiring about any known information, in regards to a frameset, engraved “J Mortimer” on steering column & bottom bracket . “JM72” is engraved on the column as well. Frameset appears to be vintage 60-70s lightweight. Very well done lugless/fillet brazed construction. Any information on builder will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome!

The name doesn't ring a bell, but since it might also be the client's name, some nice big pictures of the frame and details might well help identification of the builder.

Appreciated

Middlehill Road. That’s a postcode. Reckon it might be the owner?

That of course suggests it was made for someone perhaps?

The number/letter sequence on bottom bracket is a post code? Frame is from England, I’m in the States, so I’m not familiar. Thank you

Thank you for the pictures. 👍

My first impression is that it is a very nice frame, from a small builder (serial number 108?), once owned by a J. Mortimer. The "JM72" seems to have been done by the builder (client initials and year?), whereas the "J. Mortimer" looks to have been added by someone else.

I'd love to see a picture of the whole frame.

From 192, don't have an account so that is all I see, could be him. Not sure what year the data is even from, think you can pay and see the whole listing

Much thanks. Will upload more pictures by days end. The “JM72” is stamped. While the “J.Mortimer” is punched/engraved

Down on the South Coast if it is a postcode. The States? It must have some stories to tell. It will build up into a good bike.
