I've never?

What about not to work on it?
My 90 gram carbon seats don't like having the weight of the bike on it nor do the 61 gram carbon bars. It's like pulling wheelies. The bike has two wheels not one. Why put it on the seat and bar? It's designed to sit on the two wheels.

I never got a bike stand until fairly recent like 10 years or so. when I was a kid it was always put upside down to work on it. I never had carbon seats or bars though either

..... been able to avoid a tip find. Even for a Giant branded seat-clamp which I still have and will never be used.

I'm hoping I will be able to sell it in 20 years and buy an apartment in Ibiza.

So you weigh less than your bike?

Not disagreeing with you, I've never done it either.

No problem. It's just when I've seen bikes being this done too it looks wrong. And the contact areas tend to get damaged.
yer, my hands (and gloves) are dirty enough, I don't need to add stones and road grime to my bars as well. :) I've hung a few from trees to work on before now though. :)

I used to ride with a guy who flipped his bike over instead of laying it on the ground, I never really understood why you would do that but I think it came from his days as a courier where his bike was a beater and it didn't really matter (and meant he could sit in the middle of square and have a drink without having to lean it against anything).
