It's kicking off in London...

As for my numbers, they came from articles like these...

The BBC article actually misquotes the IoP - claiming a drop of more than 30% (the actual figure was 26.5%) - and you misrepresent the article yourself by claiming that this drop was under Labour. The figures are from 1994, with no distinction between the change that took place before the 1997 General Election and the change that took place after.

A little bit of rigour, please!

You are a man of too many words......BORING

This is a message board.

Some might find numerous short posts 'boring' to wade through, à chacun son goût.

Those of us who enjoy reading a well considered post with some actual content, as well as those who find inane and inconsiderately dismissive responses a total chore to even scan, (even if we post some ourselves), might ask you to expound on your use of 'boring' here.

Those so fond of short, witless and constant scatter gun posting are ironically reticent to venture into the chat room, where they could fulfil their urges and develop their oeuvre.

Well said HF.

Some posts seem to indicate some sort of virtual Turrets which far from progressing the discussions are more likely to derail them. Strange that some who sign up to a discussion forum then go out of their way to prevent discussion.

cant be arsed to read all the posts but silly students

proves that people of any age and background can be careless ,narrow, minded ,ill educated and feckin stupid.

and to think they created such mindless acts the day before rememberance day :!:

Perhaps if you could be "arsed" a bit more about the subject you might have something worth saying.

Who needed proof that stupidity can be found in all sections of society, who ever doubted it?

What the hell has rememberance day got to do with it?

They obviously have no respect as rememberance day is what it says on the tin,to remember the people who sacrificed themselves so that "Students" could make their own choices

How many days before rememberence day would you suggest (or in your case dictate) that people should refrain from other activities?

Not satisfied with unsupported criticism of their actions is it really necessary to attempt to blacken the reputations of thousands of disparate people in such a trite fashion.

You must have little faith in your own argument to stoop so low.
