Its a.... Sonic........Helmut Burns-London.

Just read the whole thread, which was an education.

Stunning machine, awesome paintjob - and looks like it's flying along when it's standing still. Bet it's an absolute weapon on or off road.

Cheers. I expected the forks to be a little "twangy", a little reminiscent of a tange switchblade, but was very pleasantly surprised, its very spritely, i held out on the build in the hope I could find a pair of NOS continental Baja supercross tyres in 1.5, alas I could even find a used pair that were any good.

Stunning build!😎😍 Love the contrast between the amazing bright paint and the light grey/silver of Campag Centaur group. The white cables compliment the white SONIC logos. Looks like it would be a joy to ride! Plus there’s not much better looking than a hand crafted steel frame IMHO.

That Tools of the Trade advert by Campagnolo really drew me into switching over to Campag as a teenager. Such a great shot with all those exotic bikes clad with Centaur components! 😍

cheers, the Campag advert, added so much weight to the immortalized feeling I had when I saw the first Klein Attitude and Zinn collection at the Malvern hills Classic, there's just something about Campag I cant put into words.

Actually, I lie, I can think of three, pick two (in the words of Keith Bontrager..;))....

"Heavy" Clunky" "Beautiful"

Yep those first Kleins with Campag, Peugeot Team switching to Campag and certainly those quirky "retro" looking Zinn's really complimented the Centaur Aesthetics. 😍 😍 😍

Agree!

Although "Beautiful" is very subjective and Campagnolo MTB components did have an air of Marmite about them. I happened to love both! 😍😋

I always thought the London bike couriers in the 80’s looked super cool and seemed to be quite early adopters of MTB’s.

Zipping through the traffic riding the latest Muddy Fox or other 26” wheel bike customized for maximum speed and endurance in the urban jungle.

I guess MF tapped into that buzz with the Courier model.
Bike turned out stunning!
Can anyone share some more pics and reading material for/from those 80s Courier days ...:) Please ;)
