There has been a trend towards performance/ Light weight at the expense of longevity and user maintainability.

On the one hand, this is what riders (and the industry...)asked for, but on the other, it's why a lot of us are on here!

Same with almost everything.

I could've almost dismantled my series Land rover with a 9/16 spanner and a hammer.
Neither of these work on my electric car
(But it's around 4x as efficient and 4x as quick off the mark - and you can hear yourself think! Not always a good thing obvs)

Any mention of an old Land Rover should include a photo..

There's a person in the town where i live who has converted a mk2 (i think) to electric. It's the oddest thing seeing it pull away noiselessly at speed.

Modern bikes don't fit so easily in the back of a land rover though.

Modern paint is tougher

⁹Threadlock won't really work in this situation, because it's all a bit of a loose fit.

Something with gap- filling properties?

Certain carbon fibre repairs are a whole lot easier than steel, and ti or aluminium are almost impossible.
Modern adhesives go nicely with a modern bike, when it breaks.

Hatred of clouds and the precipitation they herald isn't a preserve of us ol' biffers, the lad's currently moaning about british weather and not being able to get owt done outdoors... Bastards they are.
