Is this a good buy for an old tourer - vintage holdsworth

Genuine question without wanting to spoil the party. Is it a genuine Holdsworth or has an amateur refinisher tried to rebadged it? The downtube transfer is awfully low. I'm not sure if it would have left the factory like that.

Plus the top tube usually had the model name transfer, eg. Mistral, Special, Professional
But maybe I'm wrong, who knows

Looks a quality frame whether it is a Holdsworth or no. Good for light touring on good roads, but not much room for tyres unless you take off the mudguards, then you can go up to 35mm. No way to attach a front rack and little accomodation for a rear one either, it looks more like an audax type bicycle. A Raleigh Randonneur or a Dawes Galaxy would be more appropriate.

I agree. It looks like a refinish. And I think £150 isn't a particularly great deal given the low money things are going for these days - a ton would be more like it.

Sounds like you want a proper touring bike with big clearances, rack bosses and cantis or centrepulls.
