Is this a crack

You just want an excuse for a new frameset, right?
Actually no, I was more thinking I'd try to get this fixed if worst happens as pre 2015 geometry KM aren't easy to come by here in Denmark and I'm never importing another full bike from the UK again unless very drunk

No. Just ride it. Put a pen mark or scratch the paint to mark the end of where the suspected crack ends.

Check it after every ride for any propagation.

I've had two frames crack in the BB area on the NDS too (one Ti which had a bad repair weld and a lightweigh alloy frame).

Believe me, you will feel something strange under the pedal stroke (especially out of the saddle) or the bike doesn't want to track properly.

Luckily there are enough tubes on a bike to keep it together long enough to get home at snails pace.
Thank god for this,

Nearly pressed Buy on amazon.de just now to get a German crack detector, although having seen my fair few German cracks on the Danish beaches, I doubt I need a spray to be sure.

Scraped more of the paint, I can't see the line. Also found another crack looking thing my the headtube, scraped off the paint, gone. I think I'm going mad.

I'm shaving this fecking thing.

Gonna lay down my sword now conclude the KM, named Hamish, is fine.

In my case the crack was preceded by wrinkled paint, which means the metal is starting to yield. That was on a steel frame, not sure if it happens with aluminium.

No crinkling on the KM, my 1x1 has plenty of crinkling but it's in random places, center of tubes as well, which I think is due to improper storage and being abused by the elements

I'm trying not to develop a neurotic obsession with bike frame cracks, so I'm going to call it a day and keep an eye on it, though I doubt it's anything. If it should be something I'll get in touch with a frame builder to fix it, not giving up on this one
