Is my Brooks dead?

I have a 1940's Swallow saddle, the leather has torn around the middle rivets, I'm light and so far have got away with it, but I assume there's no bodge, I mean repair I can try before I finally bin it, or ride it 'til it breaks......

Have you got a pic? It takes quite a lot to kill one and usually a dip in hot water and a good scrub with Dubbin will save most Brooks or similar.

It might of course, be a Wrights. !!!!!

Depending on the size of the split you may get away with a bigger rivet. I have used pop rivets with big heads.
