Asking as my options may be limited as I'm looking for a 150mm I2I shock. I know you can reduce travel, but I'd assume the I2I remains constant. I've a shock or two to play with that are 165mm. I'm assuming it's not really possible, but would anyone be able to confirm.

Depending on the make of shock, you wood need access to machine shop to move the hole(s)

Fox shock, that i have, woukd not have enough metal at the ends to move the holes by more than a couple of mm,

Fox shocks of 150mm exist.

depends on how the shock is built.
Some reduce the travel by not allowing it to compress completely, others reduce it by not allowing it to extend completely.
If yours does it the latter way, you can indeed shorten the i2i by reducing the travel.

Do keep in mind that you will lose a lot of travel for a rather small i2i reduction. My former fully's rear shock would only compress by 31mm to achieve the rear end's 140mm travel. If I were to shorten the i2i by 15mm, I'd have around 65-70mm of travel left at the back.
