is it possible to lock out a set of forks permanently?

Just wonder if anybody knows if it is possible to lock out a set of rockshocks? I have a set of dart 2 and I think the damper is gone. It is leaking oil from the lockout switch. I don't really like suspension. I want some rigid forks but they are quite expensive at the more.

You could lock them out by replacing the springs with a length of wooden dowel.

But then you'd be lugging around a set of 3-4lb rigid forks. Just put up a wanted advert for some cheap rigid forks - I'm sure that someone has a pair lying around. You might even get lucky and have some for free

Thanks for answering. I have just got a cheap set of rst omegas. I have little to no expectations from them but they will do the job for now. I am going to strip down my rockshox to see what is going on with them.
