is a vintage speedwell titanium worthy of some hassle/dough!

Re: is a vintage speedwell titanium worthy of some hassle/do

Thanks for the kind words. I don't think mine has been ridden in anger very often. This is the picture from the original ad. Cleverly disguised to keep the price low, I guess.

that's a crime putting all that postman pat stuff on to a frame like that!! it's like putting a clown's outfit on a racehorse!!

Re: is a vintage speedwell titanium worthy of some hassle/do

Funny thing is I got into a bidding war over it with someone I now know to be a vintage bike collector and trader. I won at €60. I think neither of us knew what it was at the time. I certainly didn't, I just thought it looked interesting and might be a ti bike. Imagine my surprise when I got it home, had a good look and saw the first google results for "TitaLite".

Non-fixie, I bet that bike breathes a sigh of relief that you now own it every night. There is another Speedwell on this forum somewhere complete with a drillium bell!

There is a Speedwell Street in Birmingham which I was told relates to these bikes.

Ha! If there's a sigh of relief it's most probably because I don't ride it with my 6'1" and 200 lbs frame. I really should hang it on a wall; it deserves to be seen more often.
