Irrational behaviour - by-product of retro-bike.co.uk?

What's wrong with you man!! ;)

I was tempted myself but it's too small..........could make a play/jump bike though...

So is it any good?

I was put off by the rusty lookng bits!

Still has a wheel reflector, always a good sign.

It's not done alot of miles but is not in the best of states either. The BB and seat post are seized so I'll have to get hold of some ammonia to loosen them. The rust is only surface deep so it's off to the shot blasters to see if there are any further problems. The decals are badly faded, but all in all it seems sound. I'm going to take my time on this one I think.

Yeah, like everyone else, minding my own business, still riding the same one bike I bought new in 1994, all of a sudden, find this site, see something else I much prefer, strip and sell bike owned 13 years from new, buy the one I like, still have it in bits, find another cheap on the bay, still in bits, buy another, riding twice a week, and then convince other half she needs another bike to replace the one that's too small.

In one year go from never owning suspension forks before, to stripping rebuilding and reselling a set of manitous, and having 4 Judy's pas through my hands!!

I bloody love it though!

Hi. Did you finish this project off?

Do you have any close-up pics of the original graphics? I also have one of these which I bought 2nd hand around 92 time, but the frame had been painted multiple colours  Looking for some good close-ups for when I get round to hopefully restoring the frame back to original colour.

I've not done too much with this. It was going to be my next project but a certain Rocky Mountain has distracted my attentions. I do have close ups of the graphics but sadly they are very faded. I do however have quite a collection of close up pictures for the 92 astars. If you PM an email address i'd be only too happy to email them to you.

I spoke to the retrobike resident decal specialist gil_m about them not so long ago, he needed original unstuck graphics in order to make decent copies, so please keep me informed as to how you get on, i'd love a set too.

Cheers and welcome to retrobike,

Mark.

Thanks for the welcome - pm on the way too. I feel that sites like this are going to be my only way of getting good close-up pics of what they originally looked like and colouring - old pics from back in the day. Asked a while back on MBR forums and got some pics sent, can pass those back to you if you're interested?
Will create a topic for my bike, although there isn't much to see really.

Please do email me any pics, they always come in useful. Put your bike up in the readers bikes section, alpinestars always attract interest, especially from me.

I've emailed you my decal close up's, hope this helps.
