Iron Horse SGS Pro DH '04 rebuild

Re:

She's rollin'...
New 4 pot M4 brakes feel like pooh out of the box.Lets hope they bed in after a run or two. Springs feel a bit soft for my weight front and rear but as I've never ridden this rig in anger I'll reserve judgement for now.

Re:

First run out on the SGS DH at Antur Stiniog. It took a right battering but ran like a dream all day. Suspension needs some work on the spring rates to get it dialled in and the 4 pot brakes were a little underwhelming. Might go up a rotor size.

Re:

Can't say anything about Hope brakes as never appealed to me but aren't they quite spongey in feel anyway? Or is worse then that

Looks ace; making me want to build up a mini DH bike!

They aren't Hope's though; look like Clarke M4?

Re:

Yeah they are Clarks M4. They are powerful enough but just feel a bit woolly. My dodgy riding is probably more the issue. I've not ridden proper hardcore downhill for a long long (long) time.

I've decided to upgrade the front forks to something more adjustable. I got hold of some brand new 180mm RST Stitch air sprung forks for next to nothing.

Re:

It would have been rude not to pick up this Rock Shoc Kage RC rear shock for £99 on clearance. Just needs a new spring because it came with a 300 but I need 450.

Re:

New front end day. 180mm travel, air spring with adjustable compression and rebound damping and 20mm axle. I've pulled them apart and they seem like the real deal and not cheap shite. Not much info about on them save for a few boiler plate press releases. 27.5 too so I can go mullet
