Doh! My steerer tube is 15mm too short, so I need some forks pronto! Can't afford to buy 831s really, so anybody got some 2nd hand forks that would be suitable?

Im thinking maybe Pike 434s with the air spring option.

Need 100-120mm travel
Strong, but light is always nice
180+mm steerer tube

Or has anyone seen any single clamp dorados recently

could always try a very low stack headset....something like a crank brothers one?

Can save 10mm at most with a new headset, so that leaves my 5mm short still.

Think that would still be reckless.

what about a zero stack one? if theyre available for standard cup headtubes :?

roughly headsets are about 30mm

Current headset: FSA Pig DH Pro 31mm stack height
Current stem: Revell BMW 27mm stack height

really the stem needs replacing to something like a 35-40mm stack height so fighting a losing battle.

Yeah the zero stacks seem to come in at 10-12 mm, so assuming i get a 35mm stem im then only 2mm short which is acceptable.

But not sure if using a tiny XC headset is a great idea on a 4x bike.

not sure what the height is on these, but looks low...

and the thompson stems use a wedge which needs less steerer in it..
