Hi guys,

I am after information on the 1994 (might be 1993) Maruishi line-up.

I got my bike brand new in Japan, it had Suntour XC Pro through out, Zoom stem, bars and post and was blue and Yellow.

It might have been called the black forest or black hawk, something like that.

Let me know if you can offer any help as;

http://www.maruishi-cycle.com/

and the web haven't thrown up anything.

Cheers

Maruishi Black Eagle and the search continues....

This looks similar to my bike but not as high spec.

I also found a pic of the M900 XTR full sus bike!

Back in the late 70's and early 80's in the US, a good portion of bicycles were sold through regional distributors many of which were family run and were two, three and four generations old. "National" distributors/bike lines existed like Schwinn, Ross, Fuji, Panasonic and others. Many Japanese lines were sold and many were sold through smaller US regional distributors. Among those lines...Sekai, Sekine and Maruishi. Bauer Cycle in the Twin Cities was a regional distributor of Maruishi in the Midwestern US. When I was running a shop that sold Fuji and Panasonic they tried hard to get me to buy Maruishi's, but one shop could only have so many Japanese lines with many of them having similar component overlap/same spec..after all there were less component groups in a line back then. I don't recall if any Maruishi mountain bikes were ever sold in the US. If so I think it was all before 86. I don't ever recall seeing anything being sold after that. Most of what I remember being sold in 84-5 may have been remaining older inventory. There are postings on line showing Maruishi road bikes from as late as 89.

I remember people pronouncing this line as mar-we-shee and mar-woo-shee.
