Can’t help a lot I’m afraid and you might not find much more info on here. I had a similar bike that I eventually identified as a BSA Sports from about 1938. It had lost its head badge so a positive ID wasn’t immediately obvious. What came out of it was that these were factory bikes and a number of brands which had been swallowed up by Raleigh (eg BSA, Triumph, New Hudson) were being produced with identical/similar frames and the same components. That meant the bikes looked almost identical apart from the branding. They kept making them across quite a number of decades spanning across when yours was made. Quite basic bikes, heavy, basic construction but completely bombproof.
