I have just been out on my first proper MTB ride since my little issue. And what a bike to do it on. http://www.strava.com/activities/128082918
What a hoot that was. smooth, stiff, silly tall. with lovely kit that worked pretty much from the off. Will fit DMRs though as did my first ever sideways toestrap slow motion elective dismount down by the mill.

The bike is a keeper purely due to grin factor if nothing else. may change the brakes for XT Vs with travel thingies though as downhill was a bit interesting until the headset came loose. Bought an extra lock nut to go below the brake cable stop so that should sort it.

Uphill very press and go. Downhill stiff, sure and hilarious. Hope you like the saddle.

Just take the toe straps off, and you will find nice flat pedals staring at you.

Can you bring any headset spanners Saturday? Only have the one so hard to lock it off.

Silver V8s arrived. Waiting for new headset. Changed brakes to xt v with travel agents to keep bar setup. Will post pics after headset fitted.

If brakes are soft bars will have a rethink if I gave to get those rubbers off :facepalm: will go to xt thumbies and matching xt v levers

Not a massive fan of the bars though..

This looks like the best /least offensive to the eye that you have built Mr HM . The Kona is a close second obviously .
Can't wait to see it finished finished , with some xt bits on
