Just to derail this very interesting thread a little more, why have some Raleigh 531 frames from this period got straight forks while others are raked?

Lovely frame by the way, I have a Moonshine on the way, my first Lightweight Raleigh :)

Indeed, and I am following this thread with great interest as I am doing that interesting theoretical bit that precedes any great build, what to hang from the frame? Judging by THM's form, I should learn plenty :)

The forks have gipiemme drop outs. And don't look too bad.

Was going to suggest pearlescent white, as a colleague at workhas a new Citroën Ds3 hybrid thing in pearl white, aand with a mux of chrome and black it really fizzes

did you see the GOD version that LGF passed on to I only wish I knew where, very very 80's ford Cortina brown with white lugs, white matching stem forks and bars.... Dares ya
