Could he have been singing about 9 speed XTR and Dura Ace kit?
I never cease to be amazed at how long some of my 9 speed rear mechs, STIs and changers have lasted.
So, what are your objects that refuse to die, and 'You're Never Gonna Give Them Up'
There's stuff I have that when building a bike, I know will work and will fit and I use it - forgetting "oh that's 30 years old (or thereabouts)".
Race Face I beam cranks.
SRAM X0 9 speed shifters and derailleurs.
Anything XT from the 90s - it's the era of bikes I like and the best groupset I could afford and the stuff I gravitate to.
Anything LX from the 90s - as above but when I was short of cash.
Anything XTR from the 90s - as above but when I managed to jag it on sale.
Steel Kona frames.
Paul's brake levers.
Altek brake levers.
When I saw the thread title I was reminded of the "Rick Astley Paradox"... If you ask Rick Astley for a copy of the movie "Up", he won’t give it to you, because he’s Never Gonna Give You "Up".
However, by doing so, he just let you down, basically betraying the song.
