...and discover just how good canti's can be :cool:

Or its modern equivalent;

(BTW Paul: You were right about my brakes above; They're not even Deore LX, let alone XT - they're Exage 500LX :? )

have you nailed that on with an allen key stevo ? :shock:

That's how it came on the Zokes' I bought - doesn't look right but certainly works! :LOL:

It's not a pukka Cannondale Force 40, but very similar. I dare say if I took the time to set it up according to the Cannondale instructions I've just downloaded it'd be even better.

Forget Kool-Stops, you need some of these if you can find any...

Scott Matthauser Superbrake pads..... and set them up well.

They don't squeak, despite what people say..

theres a knack to getting brake widgets set up really well. you need to leesen the length from the cantis to widget and lengthen the main cable to the first pulled cantis. that way the cable does not bend under squeezing if you get me. i coudl show you but im in my staffroom at present lol

hope that helps ;)

a secret trick i use is a lump of roofers pitch.makes the rims super sticky,works on discs as well, but dont tell anyone its a secret........ ;)

Pretty much every trials rider on the planet knows about scoring/tarring rims. Not much of a secret, really. Works great for absolute grip on the rim and keeping the brake locked, modulation goes out the window.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess the Cannondale instructions say to mount it onto the fork using bolt through the supplied brass pivot bushing, not hang it off a straddle cable safety hook. :D

I understand Force 40s are hard to come by o'er there. I have a couple of NOS ones if anyone need them.
